About Blackwater Farms

The history of raising fowl for fighting dates back 6,000 years. The first recorded use of the word "cockcock," which refers to the use of the cock as a "game," a sport, pastime, or entertainment, was in 1634, following the use of the term "cock of the game" by George Wilson in The Commendation of Cocks and Cock Fighting, the earliest known book on the sport of cockfighting, published in 1607. However, Antonio Pigafetta, Magellan's chronicler, saw and recorded modern cockfighting for the first time in the kingdom of Taytay during Magellan's voyage of discovery of the Philippines in 1521.
